Ingredients

  • For Meatballs:
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 small mozzarella balls (or cubes)
  • 12 black olive slices (for “eyeballs”)
  • For Pasta:
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional garnish: fresh basil or parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven or Heat Pan : Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) for baking or heat a skillet with olive oil for pan-frying.
  • Prepare Meatballs : In a bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Form into 12–16 meatballs.
  • Cook Meatballs : Oven Method : Place meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake 18–20 minutes until cooked through.
  • Skillet Method : Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through (about 12–15 minutes).
  • Add Eyeballs : Top each meatball with a small mozzarella ball or cube. Place a black olive slice in the center to create an eyeball effect.
  • Cook Spaghetti : Boil spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with marinara sauce.
  • Assemble Dish : Serve spaghetti on a plate, top with eyeball meatballs, and drizzle extra marinara sauce around the plate. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
