Ingredients
  

  • For the Butter Batter:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • For Each Serving:
  • 2 tablespoons butter batter
  • 2 ounces dark rum
  • ¾ cup hot water (just below boiling)
  • Optional Garnish:
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • Whipped cream (for extra indulgence)

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Make the Butter Batter : In a small bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Drink : Place about 2 tablespoons of the butter batter into each mug.
  • Step 3: Add Rum and Hot Water : Pour 2 ounces of dark rum and about ¾ cup of hot (not boiling) water into each mug.
  • Step 4: Stir to Combine : Stir well until the butter is fully melted and the mixture becomes creamy and fragrant.
  • Step 5: Garnish and Serve : Top with a cinnamon stick, a sprinkle of nutmeg, or a dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately while steaming hot.
